Hello people !

I know the title is not very clear ^^ I had found here a topic or maybe in the album few months ago an idea to add a "barrier" into the walls to cover the windows for cold weather (or big sun). The walls was empty and there was a wood panel that you can slide up..

Is it clear ? ^^

Any idea where I can find these topic/images ?

Thanks a lot !

I recall several people that wanted to have panels behind the cabinets that could be raised up to cover the windows. I don't remember reading about anyone actually doing it.

I put rigid insulation panels in the window frame to cover the glass during the winter. The panels fit snugly if you cut them accurately. I haven't figured out how to permanently incorporate the window panels into the bus yet. I like the fact that I can move the panels around to cover different areas, like the hot side of the bus at this time of year.

You're talking about something like that except permanent?

Permanent, yes. I saw someone who do this... I guess I must to add a thin wood panel + a piece of insulation sheet (for the winter) + foil sheet (for the summer).
Also, If I slide up all these panels for the night, it will be like shutters.

If you keep all the windows, like me, I think, this is unavoidable ^^

3 in 1 : privacy, warm (winter edition) and "cold/comfortable" (summer edition) hehe

I love this! I have to think long and hard whether I'll be able to do this but I really want to have these.

My only issue with this idea, is that you are taking insulation from one spot and moving it to another. Their design worked out because they were comfortable with existing insulation on the bus, but others may not have as good. If this was done I'd make sure to insulate the bottom part first, so that when u remove that insulation on the board and put it up where the windows are, you still have good enough insulation on the bottom too.

Exactly. My walls and top are insulate with spray foam and I will add another wood board above.
