Janet, this is a very valid point to consider. I would suggest limiting the detail level to either county, city, or zip, at the minimum - whichever is compatible with the mapping program decided upon.
May I suggest that regardless of the mapping program, that its final resting place/location within the site be restricted to a place that is only visible to members-only?
On that same privacy vein, could it be incorporated into the UserCP as an "opt-in" option for those who wish to participate and/or view the map?
