Medium size bus designs

Just for reference...the typical 40' Skoolie has about 12 feet of overhang behind the rear axle. At least my old BB did. Gotta really watch any deep or steep dips or you can high side'em.

Good to know! I read a post somewhere about a 12 window Thomas mvp being 35' and 14 window being 40'. Is that typically the case with other manufacturers? I know some buses have that extra length behind the last window too which I though I read somewhere was +10 inches but don't remember bus model

In the Thomas buses, they are rated by "body section". A 14 window transit has 14-sections.

However, the rear engine adds some.

So a 40' Thomas MVP ER has 14-sections (windows) + 10 ".

Any familiar with older buses? Going to go check this one out in person. 1985 international blue bird, no rust, good tires, mechanic starts and drives it a few times a month and calls it a Cadillac. It has service records, at545, top speed of 67-68, showing low miles, but not assuming accurate until I view records.

Anyone know much about these older ones and the motors? I've seen 6.5L and 9L listed for it, so I'm not entire sure which motor it is
