Hi all, I bought a 48v 12kBTU from China. Mistake? We shall see.
So far, it has trouble coming back from being off. Sometimes it will blow Cold, sometimes it will blow hot. When it doesn't, I may need to reset it multiple times and or kill the power for a full reset, possibly more than once and possibly leaving it off for 20 minutes for total capacitance release. It also sometimes fails the same way: on, but room temp, not hot or cold, while running.

My remote Icons are confusing and do not match what I can find on the web.
It has Heat, cool and dehumid (AU Only) and fan. Ok, standard so far.

There are a couple of functions that I can't figure out.
One looks like a try blade, I assume Fan? When in this mode, it displays "17." on Split's display. Any ideas?
Fan has AU, F, 20%, 40%,60%,80%. These don't seem to make a difference when in heat or cool? Should they?

Another looks like a Dual line triangle? (AU only)

Thanks

what brand?
fujitsu?
pioneer?
mr. cool?
each one is going to have different symbols and error codes.
do you have good clean consistent power to it?

my experience with minisplits is Dehumidify is a cooling function with higher compressor speed and lower indoor fan speed.. ice cold air but not as much of it.. its impossible to dehumdify truly as these units dont have heat strips so you cant cool then reheat the air.. you can just cool it to dehumdify

the picure of a sun is heat mode..
snowflake is A/C, dehumidy is often a water drop.. but maybe its a triangle on this one..? or is that the "auto" mode.

blades is fan only..

when you use auto mode on a minisplit it will mode switch internally to maintain a temperature..

so say you set auto and 22.
machines typically default to heat so it will start out in heat mode, look at the room temp (sensor on the unit itself).. if its below 22 it will start heating.. if its 22 or 23 it will probably do nothing.. if its 24 it will go into cooling.. .. remember the sensor is on the unit itself so it may read different than what you think it does..

so when you turn it off and on it may also use the last mode it had.. so if it last cooled in auto and is close to setpoint then it might not blow hot or cold... it might just sit there...

the remotes are typically one-way meaning no feedback from the unit itself is sent back to the remote.. if you half-ass pointthe remote at the unit or dont point it at all, then the screen on your remote might show cooling and 22 and the unit does nothing because it never got the command. they are usually infrared so you have to point it at the unit itself (wherever its IR sensor is).. you can be in another room point the remote and have the unit run..

HI, Thanks,
Since I bought it from a Alibaba vendor.
I actually don't know the Manufacturer.
China, so sad... it was the only reasonably priced 48v system I could find.
I rolled the dice.
