Mountain driving without supplemental brakes

I'm set on a 84 passenger, rust free unit. 72 just won't do
You need to check on lengths, an 84 pass isn't necessarily longer than a 72. It depends on what size the little critters were and how the seats are arranged. Forty feet is max for a school bus. I have a 40 ft bus that was rated for 52.

Nothing fictional about it, Hwy 160 in Colorado, first time I did it was at night in the rain, much of it was gravel and only one lane. I was way over hours and couldn't find a place to pull off. I was so tired I finally pulled into a construction area, figured they'd wake me up when they wanted to go to work.
However, I never saw the tunnel or the feed store in Pagosa Springs

the feed store and losing a row of chickens is the fiction ;)

I always picture that song so vivid in my mind :D

I can guarantee....beer was for breakfast that morning

Fair enough. I use 84 as my rule of thumb. Generally people don't list total length, and I've found 50-something ratings are used when rating for adults (or bucket seats instead of bench seats). Would be nice if sellers would list in total length not passenger counts.

I count windows. They equal about 28" or to round up 2.5 ft. My bus was 15 windows. 2.5 x 15 = 37.5. My bus is a flat nosed 40 ft. It's a good way for figuring out rough estimate of floor space too.

I wouldnt say those Maryland buses are always rust-free. We bought 15 of them from the Montgomery County District and I can say there was certainly a decent amount of rust and questionable repair work on them. But they were dirt cheap and get great mileage.

I'm just trying to save someone from spending five to ten grand on one to convert.
