Perhaps you were fantasying about the pretty woman on the old television commercials for St. Pauli Girl beer.
As far as being "tone deaf", don't let that stop you. I have a friend here who has no clue about notes on the guitar, yet he gets an enormous satisfaction when he plays in his rhythmic purveyance.
As I mentioned, the mere fact that you are making "music" on an instrument is what is of value. You do not need to perform for other people. The most important factor is to play a musical instrument.
Crazycal, you did learn to speak. In the same way, you can learn to express yourself with a musical instrument.
