I bought a 1974 Chevrolet Blue Bird 48 passenger. It came from the factory gas powered by what I do not know. It currently has a 350 propane conversion with a 3 speed Alison transmission. I drove it home to Prince George BC from Fort Nelson BC. I had to drive with some windows open, the exhaust "Y" pipe was broken. I'm currently stripping out defunct wiring and getting ready to send it off for government inspection. I'm also doing a detailed drawing in Google sketchup.

along with the wires that were cut when the privious owner removed the amber and red lights.

Oh yeah she's a beauty, goodness. Mmmm 350 motor. Ain't but a block, alternator and a carb. Nothing could break on it that a days work can't fix.

No computers going wacky, no sensors misreading pressure, voltage, current, etc. and shutting down the entire operation because they're not receiving the required signal, even though everything is just fine. Ahhhh, they don't make 'em like that anymore. :)

when I was into hot-rodding i thanked my lucky stars daily that I live in a smog-check, inspection check Free city / county...

if you can bolt it up here and it runs its legal..

Well today was busy...
Checked into getting a a second 50 gallon propane tank, now looking for a used tank.
Checked on getting an off the shelf "Y" pipe, no luck. Custom exhaust here we come.*
Checked into getting 900 R 20 tires or something to fit, nothing. Custom rims and 22.5 tires down the road.
Found out I have Allison Transmission AT 540 3 speed

Love the older buses! I studied alternate fuels in school. Propane is cool and CNG but personally I would swap in a cheap 12v Cummins. Anything that big will get terrible MPG anyway and diesel will be cheaper. Sticking with the LPG engine and such is cheaper right now because that is what it came with. Keep us updated!

I took a look at my wheelchair lift today. It has a hydraulic pump and a single ram. From the ram goes 2 chains 1 for each side, the chains are stiff and gooy, need lubricant. Thinking if I keep the lift changing the hydraulic system with a electric actuator. But the lift takes up room in the bus, hmmm....
