It's been interesting to note that last year several people cut off the legs of the seats first, then began dealing with the bolts.

I don't know why? I don't see the benefit of doing it twice. Pop the cushion, take out the 3 bolts against the rail and grind off the 4 on the floor. Maybe they had a different set up?

Unknown about their setup. It looked normal, until all those seat legs were sticking out of the floor. I'd say it was just a learning experience for them.

Luckily I learned by watching all of you guys figure most of this stuff out before I had to lol.
One side of the bus stripped out. Little lunch and then the other side goes!

Yeah, I figured.
Hate when that happens, though. I'll go buy something, then the next week or month its half price. Oh, well- its HF, its still cheap!! :biggrin:

IDK, lots of folks find their own way to reinvent the wheel... This is SKOOLIE, after all!! We love finding so many ways to skin a cat here lol.

Wrestling seats out of the bus? I must have missed that one.

The worst I did was using a 6' long prybar to simply break very rusty bolts off from inside to get the seats out. Those bolts were a little to rusty to unscrew.

Without a helper... I had to grind. I even tried my impact to snap them off. It works on about every 4th bolt

I'd say wresting the seats out of a bus without tools deserves its own video.

Yeah, I had a partner with an air impact gun inside the bus while I crawled around under the bus with a wrench the first time removing seats. The second time my partner indicated she wasn't interested in removing the seats in another bus and went back to watching TV. That made me kind of angry and I tried prying one of the seat legs loose with the long bar and it broke the rusty bolt right off. With that small success I started popping bolts under all the seats using the pry bar. It was lots faster than unbolting everything and the big prybar was a good way to vent my anger about my partner refusing to help. That and many other reasons are why I'm an old bachelor now. I stayed long enough to raise my three kids. Never did finish raising my (wife) partner.

For the few bus seats that I've continued to use I've found it's much easier to bolt the seats down using lag bolts.

I saw a video on the forum of a lady that removed a couple that way.
Bottom line, seat is out! Hahaha

Well... that was interesting. I should make a video of my angry pry bar method, but there was way to much cussing going on.
