Nebuchadnezzar the build

Mounted the tanks

Doing warm weather projects on the Neb, mounted the two 100 gal tanks this week. I got a deal on a bunch of uni-strut so I used that. I added fittings to the grey water tank. will be painting the exterior in the next couple of weeks, all that is yellow will be silver.

Are the fittings compression type fittings for the polypropylene
tanks? When I added fittings to my tanks I got the spin-weld
fittings from Inca Plastics and one of their tools to fit my disc
grinder for less than $20 and welded on new fittings that
matched what was on the tank. Nice layout on the tank
support platform.

Grey water tank

I was going to vent my grey water tank through the roof, but now I'm thinking since I have a composting toilet maybe I can just put a length of pvc with a screen over it underneath, nothing nasty in there, thoughts?

That is my plan as well. My tanks are 40 gal each.

You might want to cut some of the excess threaded rod below the tanks. Hate to catch them on a speed bump, curb, etc.

We're going with a Natures Head composting toilet
and it has a vent attachment that goes to the outside
to carry away foul odors. Our plans are to pipe it into
the vent for our grey water tank which goes thru the
roof already. They claim that it produces zero odor when
someone is doing number 2. Also I understand that grey
water can sometimes produce stronger odors than a
black water tank and since odors usually rise you might
not want to be venting under the bus.

Thanks Dragonpop, I have Nature's Head as well, and I think using the same vent is a great idea. I did install a fitting on the tank
for the vent.

I have an used a Sun-Mar non electric waterless composting toilet in my cabin down back. I considered installing it on the bus. The consideration was quickly rejected by Hubby & after thinking about it, by me.

In the three years or so that I used it I could never, never get it right and it stunk to high heaven and back.

We elected to go with the Jabsco marine toilet. Same concept, non-electric, waterless but the stinky stuff will be going into a grey water tank. As it only uses as much water as we choose to put in it, we thought it a good idea to mix grey water with it.

Getting ready for paint, resealed roof seams

Used my own recipe for re-sealing brushed the seams with mineral spirits and wiped and then sealed with Henry's 212 love that stuff.

Scotch Brite before paint

Still prepping for paint (or the zombie apocalypse, ha) put a little something together to help. Polisher/ sander, some 3M spray adhesive and scotch brite pads.
Cut pad to size of the disk

Tomorrow we paint!

Finally, all the safety stuff has been removed all holes closed and sealed, 100% scuffed and washed, a wipe down with mineral spirits and a painting we will go! It is incredible how much reflective tape and lettering decals are used on school buses.
