Hello everyone,

I have been looking for a skoolie restoration project for a little while now - something with the seats already gutted and in such a mechanical condition where I may be able to just design and build my dream motorhome inside!

I am currently looking at a 1969 GMC school bus - approx. 28 ft. long. I haven't found much information on these buses online however from what I know of it the bus is propane powered. From the pictures it looks like it is in pretty good shape. I am considering going to take a look at it next week (the bus is located almost a days drive away) but before that I thought it might be nice to touch base on here in case anyone could help me out a bit more. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about these buses?

Many thanks in advance! It has been great to see everyone's projects on here!

It would help us give you advice if we knew which engine/trans is in the bus along with the GVW, tire size and type wheels (budd or daton). Does it have air brakes or hydraulic and does it have power steering?

You may be too new here to post a picture but if you can that would help as well. Jack:popcorn:

Most restos are going to consume lots of time & lots of money. As long as you are aware of that going in and prepared to deal with it...almost anything can be brought back to life. And there is some seriously cool old school stuff out there just waiting for another chance at life.

But definitely do lots of homework before diving in.
