I am looking for info on my air dryer. I am wanting to replace the cartridge or replace the entire unit. It has minimal marking on the cartridge, "Allied Signal Benedix Air Dryer" no model #. the air dryer itself has a Guarantee and a serial number stamped plate but online searches has yielded no results.
I am seeing some oil at the purge part of the dryer, not much but a residue that collects grime. the Purge valve has also gotten stuck open once allowing air to escape but after pushing on it it has never done it again almost a year later. my though is I need to replace the cartridge.
I am at a loss as to what cartridge to order to replace it with. Fleet pride near me has 3 options:
1. OTR AD-9 Style Air Dryer Cartridge $50
2. OTR Air Dryer Cartridge $50
3. OTR Type AD-9® Style Dryer (a replacement dryer and cartridge) $177
their website says these fit my vehicle, I have learned to be Leary.
Help me solve my mystery and advice on cartridge or full replacement are welcome!
