Need Help in Santa Rosa NM

Nas_ster, Could not find any leaks, the slave seems to be full, I do not understand what you mean by power shift into other gears? Thanks EastCost every little thing helps.

how was it shifting before? any grinding? and going up hills under a load was engine revving more than moving forward?(clutch slipping) I exploded a clutch disc once and it went from driving to nothing quick.

hopefully they can come up with something

good to hear if it goes into gear while engine is running the clutch is released atleast, now when you let clutch out it wont engage, it could be a stuck throwout bearing, wounder if there is an inspection cover with a grease fitting, might be able to see location of bearing

Bansil that's some hope at least, EastCoast emailed you pix, if it does not go through let me know may have to do it straight from phone

Power shifting is shifting while rolling without using the clutch. You have to match the engine rpm to the speed your traveling to get the gears to line up enough to slip into gear.

All standard trans I have ever seen have a inspection cover. If it's a stuck throwout bearing, it can stick with the clutch engaged, or disengaged. The tree truck last year was stuck engaged, therefore it was always in gear. So I power shifted it to drive it home.

If yours is stuck in the disengaged position, I would crawl under the bus with the bus shut off. Use a pry bar through the inspection hole to manually force the clutch disk forward to it makes contact with the pressure plate again.

Then jump in the bus, stick it in first, and don't touch the clutch. Try to start the bus. It should jump forward as soon as the starter starts spinning. Then start driving and power shift your way home.

Throwout bearings are like everything else. They sit to long they sometimes stick. They live in a vary harsh environment under there. Oil, mud, water, and clutch disk material gum them up.

SAFETY if under bus always have brakes set and a couple chocks one in front and one in back of tires is good cheap quick insurance

Hmmm let me try again, they're showing up for me.
Let me try it this way-

Yea I really would like to get her home, but think is going to take me getting someone to haul her there, seems none of the mechanics in this town wanna touch her, and I just don't have the skills to fix her on my own, was hoping to do so with someone to over see tthings but stuck out no tools no nothing not a lot I can do, am going to see if they will let me keep her here for a bit till I can bring her home or sell her.

No doubt, I would be all over it to help....she has character for sure, thanks CB pics work good now

So big rig truck repair in Santa Rosa is pretty awesome, they were kind enough to let me keep her there for a bit, till I can figure something out, a couple of truckers that got their rig fixed there are giving me a ride to Albuquerque, going backwards I know, but the station at Albuquerque is open 24/7 and more buses run through her so figured was my best bet

Remember this:

It is not a bus...its just a big truck class 5 or so

Anyone should be able to go back in time 20 years and diagnosis the problem....wow I am amazed

Good luck, make sure to say it has a ford blank/blank front engine, 5 or 6 speed transmission and then describe problem....

Get some sleep, coffee and smile in the morning as you get dressed...it could be a helluva lot worst...
