This box is next to the passenger side door.
Inside it says "Hi-AMP Bus 120A" with a red button

Looks like a fuse box?

Is it safe to remove it?

I am trying to remove it so that I can access the underneath to do sound-deadening

Thanks!

That box is a circuit breaker!
At 120 amps, I would consider it a major component of the bus.

You can unscrew it from the panel but I would first disconnect the batteries, do your sound deadening, and then put it back in place where it was.

More importantly, you need to find out what that breaker is protecting. It makes no sense to not know why it is even there!

Circuit breaker

I just replaced that same breaker on my bus due to corrosion. It powered my wheel chair lift.

that breaker has a test button.. disengage the breaker and see what dies... that looks like the breakers they use for the Air-conditioning system as well.

it is definitely a high capacity accessory relay/breaker.
i would have thought handi lift as well but CK says it could be A/C.
i use those when installing lift gates on trucks.
like said trip and see if you can figure out what it feeds.
