hello, i have a 05 E-350 and i cant figure out the spring code?
i believe the VIN says it is rated for 11500lb.
i have mine rated under at 9560 fully loaded.
it rides ok but rough.
my left rear leaf is strait.
and the right rear leaf has a little under camber to it.
so the bus leans to the right a little.

spring code says RR66 ULN
i have been searching the internet and cant seem to find any translation to what my leaf or front springs are?
VIN says incomplete vehicle.

does anybody here know what code sizes & weights i have?

i did go under with a wire brush and looked in various places on the leaf looking for part numbers but couldn't
find anything?

would running a new & less weight leaf give me a smoother ride?
or should i put the same new OEM back in?
shouldn't my Leafs have a camber in it?
or is it normal to be strait with the weight on it?

i got 3640 lb in the front
and 5920 lb in the rear.

VIN sticker says 7800 lb in the rear GAWR.
would it be ok to downsize a leaf to make it like 7000 -6500 lb?
would that make it ride better?
or even make a difference?

any schooling or help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance!

Thank you for looking.

after doing more homework and reviewing my pics i think i have the 43-1085 ?
i keep counting 9 leafs and if so it is rated for 3460 lb x 2 = 6920 lb total.

but why does my vin rear GAWR say 7800 lb ?

Doorman doesnt carry the 43-1085 but general spring does.
Dorman only had the 43-1085HD & SHD rated @ 4k lb & 5k lb.

nevertheless my rear is only 5920 lb.
so i am thinking of getting new 43-1085 for $199 which is OEM for me pretty sure.......

but looking at the chart i may also have another option?
maybe the 7 leaf 43-1041HD rated @ 3750 lb x 2 = 7500 lb total
it has more camber but is rated more that the 43-1085?
why is that?

i wonder which one would be a softer ride?

not sure about a air ride modification?

thanks in advance for any thoughts or knowledge.

there is a member on hear that posted a video of him adding bags to his short bus of course i cant remember who but he used i believe SUMO bags and shows his install.
eventually i will be doing that with my wifes shorty bus.

Thanks JR i will check into it.
my gut is telling me to just change leaf springs.
they are only good for like 10 years and mine are like 20 if they have never been replaced?
one is sagging / under-camber with that side of the bus leaning.
so i know they need to be changed LOL
dont really wanna do any major changes adding air pumps, hoses & bags.
i like to keep my bus easy, OEM and maintenance free as possible LOL

still doing homework but probably gonna run the 43-1041HD?
and i still need to figure out what springs i have in front?
not sure but i think the first R in RR66 is the front and the second R is the back?
but not sure?
they are probably 20 years old and need to be replaced as well?

i did put new shocks on the front and back 3 years ago with a front end alignment.

a good part guys ought to be able to track down what was factory based on your vin. i replaced my front spring with since they were flattened, and the results were good, but not great. you wont regret going over and above what you had.

Ya even new OEM springs and leafs will give me a smoother ride LOL.
they were bad when i got the bus a few years ago.
i went to the ford dealer yesterday for other bus stuff.
he couldnt figure out from the vin but said a senior employee will be able too on monday.
it looked like i was missing a lower radiator shroud piece so i ordered one.
just spent a lot of T&M this month on the bus so im a little low on cash now..........
new injector, standpipe and dummy plug.
new serpentine belt.
new ICP sensor.
new IPR valve
new all aluminum radiator.
2 new batteries.
when it rains it pours LOL
its back up and running!
i put 20k miles on it & 95 campsites!
so it was due for some TLC.
suspension & brakes next.
:trash:

I’d add air bags with individual lines to each and call it a day.
You would be in shock at how well they work and how adjustable they are.

thanks guys! i think i will do homework on air bags.
i just got back from a 4 day adventure.
bus is running great.
heading out again tomorrow. for another one.
think im gonna replace all stock springs & leafs.
i will be doing calipers and brakes anyways.
she is leaning on passenger side pretty bad now.
then will look into airbags to smooth it out.
dont wanna change the ride Hight.
my homework on the stock front springs seem to say 5K ?
but i dont know if thats for pair or single?
vin says 9C2Z-5310 R
found a tag hanging off the spring says RV 3C245310 RA.
need to do more homework?
my front only weighs 3640 lbs.
if they are 5k each then thats 10k.
if they are 5k combined then thats ok but would rather get some that are 4k -4500k....maybe
general springs has:
351-880 HD
350-880 HD
350-880 XHD
i believe i currently match 350-880 HD.
anyway dont mean to go down a rabbit hole LOL
my motto has always been " take two & think things through "
so i am just doing my homework!
any insight is always appreciated.
thanks and have a great day!
