Im new here and i hope i can get some constructive criticism i won at an auction a 2004 IC Corporation Genesis Bus, Mileage: 197,991 Drive Line: 4x2, Engine Type: L6, 7.6L (466 CID)

After fees and all it was about $2100 from the little research i have made i believe is a great deal just the motor i belive is worth 5000 dlls it only has 187,000 miles. I just jump started (needs 3 new batteries) and started great a friend drove it to a property 30 miles from the school where it was stored it got decommissioned last year and it has a check transmission light on my friend told me it drobe good but the shifting did feel funny im hoping is low in trans oil but havent reaserch how to check it or where to take it or to hire a mechanic to go check it.

Long story short should i keep it and register as an RV and travel or should i sell it and try to get a smaller one since this is a 40' one also any advice on how much i should list it?

these should have the pushbutton shfited MD3060. i have seen some of these frotn engines running the 2500 PTS

air-conditioned , DT466, low headroom tinted windows..

if you can deal wit hthe low headroom or deal with the insurance headaches of a roof raise then this would be a keeper .. even if you have to put a transmission in it..

According to OnCommand it has a DT466 ST 195HP/2600 GOV engine manufactured 6/17/2003 with an Allison 2000. Gear ratio is 6.5.

correct and thank you for the info from my little research i feel like 40 feet is too much for me i would be more comfortable with a 35 feet or 30 feet bus im thinking of posting this for sale at $6000 do any one has a recommendation on where to post it and is this a fair price?

Seems a bit greedy to try to flip a bus with known issues for almost 3 times what you paid for it. Undiagnosed tranny issues and 3 bad batteries???

No way. :hide:

I understand just asking also im saying 6000 so "low baller" say 5000 and i can agree to that price. tho what price would you feel confortable or think is fair?

My Milkshake bus has a DT466HT 225 hp/2400, MD3060 with 6th open and a 6.5 rear.

At 70MPH she is screaming at 2300 RPM's and on the Florida panhandle rolling hills on
I-10 she will slow down from 70MPH to 60MPH, depending on the grade.

I would be interested to see how an Allison 2000 would do.

If the tires are old and worn along with the other issues then I would deep discount it for a quick sale. I made a similar "Rooki" mistake on the first bus I bought. I have a 28' bus that better meets my wants.

I doubt you would notice the difference of a 35' compared to a 40' when driving it and you can always use all that extra room. That was a good price you paid, straighten out the problems and yes it's OK to make a profit for selling something that is in demand, that's only fair. If someone gave it to you would you then give it to someone else or sell it for what it's worth?

tires are in really good shape almost new the only know issue is transmission feels funny shifting. also i got brand new batteries from volvo today with 18 months warranty.

Sold it for $4300 guy resold it to some one in south america to used as transportation. Fyi.
Just got a new IC bus 2005 with a DT466.
