And we're back!

Thanks for your patience while we updated the board. There are still some tweaks being made but you should be able to login and post. I'll start another thread with some basic info about how to navigate the layout and update your account if needed.

Post here if you have questions - we'll try to help :)

Like the new look. As soon as I find everything and get used to it I'll probably like it.
Many of the links in the "Recent threads" get a
somewhereinusa, you do not have permission to access this page.
When I try to edit the "About me" in my profile, I click on the edit button and a box opens with a space to type, the cursor is in the box, but it doesn't accept anything from the keyboard.
There used to be a "view unread posts" link that I had saved as a favorite page, very handy, I could go directly to the posts that were new. Have I just not found it yet?
I also tried to update my profile picture, when I go to my profile page the new picture is there, but the picture with a post on the forum is the old one.

The title banner looks cool. The school-bus yellow color scheme rocks. So far so good.

Edit: just a note to add that that posting utility is easy to use.

This needs to be fixed to allow more images. Only allowing 4 per post is asinine.

The following errors occurred with your submission:
  1. You have included 5 images in your message. You are limited to using 4 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the BB code tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator.

I prefer the old look, it displays better on my desktop. But don't want to stand in the way of progress, especially if this works better with mobile devices, which I do not use.

However, one thing is sorely missing. The old BBS had both the date and time a thread was started with the title, in addition to listing the date and time of the latest reply.

For example, you will occasionally see a "Bus for Sale" in the classifieds that was listed in, say, 2010 that rose to the top of the stack because of someone's new comment. With the new BBS, you actually have to open each topic to see if it is recent or ancient.

Just my 1/50 of a Federal Reserve Note . . .

Anyone know how to "view your posts?" I found that handy in the old system to see if anyone responded to my posts. Not a huge issue, but a nice feature.

There are a bunch of ways you can do this... you can click on your username next to any post and access your posts via the drop down menu:

SK_view posts.jpg

here's a direct link to your posts: http://www.skoolie.net/forums/search.php?searchid=3326

You can also click on your username up at the top right of the page to access your public profile. Then under the statistics tab you can see all posts and threads you have made.

Finally you can click on usercp up on the top nav bar to access all your account controls including subscriptions you may have set up.....

Still having fits with the very short log in cycle. Seems every time I try and post a reply the system times out. Problem with that is, any message you've written or pix you have gathered and loaded all go away. Once you sign in again, instead of the system taking you back to the message you started...it takes you to a blank mystery page. Sometimes you can get back to what you were writing by using the pull down "Back" list. As often as not it is all just gone. A real pain if you spent several minutes digging up info, links or pix.

The only way around it seems to be to "Copy" the whole message as insurance before you "Preview" or "Submit", but even that is a poor means for getting things done.

Is there any reason/advantage to forcing everyone to Log In every 5 minutes or so?

I only know of one other forum with such a short Time Out, but at least I don't lose what I have started there.

You guys should know I love this place by now so I hope this is taken in the spirit it is meant.

Thanks for all your hard work.

You shouldn't be having to login every 5 minutes.. Please check to make sure that you allow cookie exchange with the site (likely a browser setting). We use cookies to keep you logged in at page changes. Then once you are sure that cookies are being allowed check the remember me box when you log in.

It might be my computer and pad or me just being tech challenged? Either way I can't seem to start a new thread and don't know if I really need to because I have seen a little about what I need help with but can't find it?(tech challenged)
If anyone can point me in the direction of how to fix the main entry door leaks (short story to go with mine)or replacement that will keep me from starting a thread
Thanks

I am finally able to log back on after quite a while. I tried reset password but it would never send the email. I tried again today and it sent the email and I was able to log on. Just an FYI
