New here from Florida and making big life changes.

Hey everyone, Joey here from Florida, and i am in the process of big life changes. I have currently just sold my small business i have owned and operated for the last 5 years (a crossfit gym) and my goal is to renovate a bus mostly for long getaways. Background is i was once a master tech for Ford and did that for about 8 years. So i am mechanically inclined. I would like to purchase a bust that is mechanically sound as i want to focus my attention on the renovation and not mechanical. That being said what are some opinions on engine and tranny combos and why? thanks in advance!!

PS although i was diesel certified i did not care to work on them. But i know plenty so if anyone has questions always feel free to reach out.

And right back at you. Many of us prefer not to work on gas engines. You know, there are those here that have gasser buses. You don't have to dirty your hands.

So tell us about the bus you envision yourself driving. Shut your eyes and lean back and think what the bus is like. Wait till you're done reading though. Are you talking about a long bus, something in between or a short bus? Maybe even a cutaway gasser?

Welcome to the adventure...just knowing how to keep your skoolie alive is a major advantage...a skoolie is like a baby; you may have some messy moments but you're gonna love the good times

I am also new to the site. One big thing I have seen is the importance of a transmission with lockup. Guess it all depends if its a local weekend camp bus or if its a full time live in cross country cruiser. Best of luck.

hey sorry for the looooong delay. I was actually in Ocala so not to far. I have recently relocated to north west GA.
