I would like to live full time in a skoolie. I'm in Connecticut. I'm not very mechanical, & my main concern is how I can maintain the engine & keep a bus running, without spending a fortune.

Depends on your definition of "fortune". An oil change is typically measured by the gallon. Tires are $1600 a set for chinese no-name generics.
But the engines are usually pretty simple and there's plenty of info out there. Educate yourself on school bus engines and figure out what you want/need in a bus. You CAN do it. :thumb:

How often should oil be changed, when you drive infrequently?

I'm no "official source" but I'll be doing mine once per year or every 6000 miles, whichever comes first.
I run cheap oil from Rural King that comes in 5 gallon buckets for around $30. Hard to beat that price!
