Hello everyone!

I've been looking around for a few months now, online and off, and have not had much luck finding a short bus that did not need thousands of dollars of work.

Where did everyone else hunt when they were looking? I'm in East Tennessee.

Hi and :welcome:

Many people purchase their skoolies several hundred miles away from their home. There are, however, many buses available in TN! TN buses are great because of the low rust factor. You can check Craig's List, EBAY and your area school districts' bus yards. The leading source of buses seems to be publicsurplus.com and govdeals.com.

Good luck!

Around airports. Look in the back lots of shuttle services.
Senior service centers. Most cities have a fleet of them.
Same goes for around colleges.
Try looking for the bus that just hasn't been put up for sale yet. :whistling:

Where at in East Tennessee ? I went to high school in Rogersville.

How short and what kind? There are a lot of 35-54 pass. conventionals and Vistas on the North Carolina Surplus School Bus site. 125K - 270K miles, late '80s - early 2000s, $2500 - $4000 range.

No pics, so you have to do your homework. Look up the VIN #s to decode which style. Some county contacts have snapped a phone pic or two and sent it along, some haven't. Start in the mountain counties and work your way west.
