Hi! I gotta admit, I'm super new to the idea of renovating a Shorty, but I am also super pumped (and a bit nervous to post on here). So here it goes (and I hope I am posting this in the right place) - I have done what I feel like is a decent amount of research trying to figure out which Shorty is best, but figured maybe asking for help wouldn't hurt. Here is the deal, I'm looking to reno this into a space that I will use for a business that I want to start.
Questions I am trying to answer, things I am looking for:
1. As much headroom as possible
2. I like entertaining the idea of getting one with the handicap ramp, to use it as the "door" to the business (Is there enough clearance to make that possible? IDK, still figuring that out) - If I don't do this, perhaps stairs to the back exit door? (would require ducking to get in and out of though I assume)
3. Reliability, and somewhat "Easy" to work on....also new to the mechanical side, but YouTube has yet to fail me. Sounds like Diesel is the way to go...
I was looking at a 1993 GMC 350 Vandura with roughly 190K miles...no ramp.
Or a Chevy Express G3500, 6.5L V8
I live in Denver, and have been trying to find a couple to at least go and look at and get a feel for, but I'm struggling to find some....
Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Cheers!
