Hey everyone. His site has been a huge help in my conversion so far. I had a 62 Wayne I was working on, but I threw in the towel and bought a 98 International. I finished the rough build out and took it out to Moab. Now I am working on fine tuning everything.

Questions i have. (at the moment)

1) What rv cover are you using on yours when storing it?
2) Where can I get replacement weather stripping for the door?
3) My windshield and trans tunnel seem to leak a little, would you just caulk it?

I don't use covers for anything here. It just traps humidity. But I'm in Fl.
The other two you'll just have to look around and see...

I have not done anything to the outside yet. I need it to stop raining so that I can cut the fridge vent in and fire up the fridge for the first time.

It looks like a great low budget build!

I particularly like the turquoise kitchen appliances. They look like the whole unit was taken out of a '60's or '70's vintage RV.

As far as sealing the dog house and transmission cover, butyl tape is one of the best to do the job--take them off, lay a line of tape along the edge, and then screw it back down.

As far as sealing the windshield, it depends upon where it is leaking--is it leaking because the gasket is allowing water to leak betweeen the glass and the rubber or between the rubber and the metal? If you want to do a quick and dirty job of it get some butyl rubber caulk and apply it all the way around the gasket making sure it covers both the glass and metal side of the gasket. The best way is to determine where exactly the leak is occurring. It may not even be the windshield but something higher up in the front cap.

I am also not sure where the leak is coming from yet. I was driving in the rain and snow for a few hours before a drip ran down the inside of the windshield.

If it took some time for the leak to appear on the inside of the windshield it is more likely the leak is coming from some place other than the seal around the glass.

Look upstream for the culprit. Check all of the lights and all of the seams around the front cap. It doesn't take much of an opening to cause water to dribble down.

If you end up taking the lights off to check them for the leak reinstall with a little butyl tape.
