Hello everyone. Just bought a 78 Wayne with a 345 International and an AT540 trannie.
The scholl district I bought it from had added 2 roof top A/C unit and interior lighting. So its partially converted already.

I have a few general questions.

1. I've been reading, and did not see very many opinions on the IHC 345. I'm sure ya'll have some.

2. does anyone know where I can get the wiring diagram? This bus uses one color wire for everthing. (white). I would like to rewire some of the lights, should I just yank it all out and start over or try to figure out what I have?

Thanks

Welcome

The old Intl 345 is a real workhorse. They are good for a lot of miles. There is also a big brother engine as the 390 cu in. The speed for your bus may be a little slow with a high number rear axle ratio. If ya wanna determine the ratio, jack up a rear wheel. Make a mark on the driveline and the raised wheel. Make the mark on the wheel at the top or bottom for ease in noticing mark's start position. While looking at the driveline, have a helper turn the wheel one complete turn. Count the driveline truns very carefully. Usually the rear axle ratios are typically 4:10, 4:60, 5:60, 6:80, ect.ect.
Ask lots of questions. Carefully pick out the good answers. Every one wants to help... Frank c
CROWN BUSES ARE GREAT.

A wiring diagram? That's the holy grail of the skoolie world! If you find one, count yourself lucky.

I'm starting to agree.

today i pulled the switch panel and the whole left side by the drivers seat and tested and labeled all of the wires. I think this might take a while.

By the way this is by far teh best forum i have found about bus conversions and general info. Thanks

Hi Cooter...and welcome aboard! :D

I'm in the same position as you with your wiring; I'm having to trace everything so I can label it. Later I'll move a lot of stuff to a new main panel and it will be nice to know what goes where.
