Hey everyone! I'm excited to join this group and learn how to convert my very own!

I haven't bought one yet, and being from New York I'm nervous to buy one in the area. I bought a converted camper van a few years back and there was so much rot damage underneath that I had to junk it. The chemicals they use to salt the roads with are harsh! I'm thinking of going somewhere south of Virginia to buy my first skoolie.

Any advice is gladly taken!

Well good luck! The north east is tough on vehicles. Keep an eye on govdeals and public surplus. There are a couple of (slightly expensive) busses down toward long island, that the seller says are pretty solid. I am just cheap lol.
