Newbie Question About Outsourcing Skookie Conversion

We're new to the skoolie community & are starting our research for the conversion. We were referred to this site via Youtubers, Rolling Vistas. We have an idea of what bus we want & how to design it, but need to hire a skoolie contractor.

As folks who don't get a lot of free time, we are wondering if anyone else has had any luck hiring a company or someone to do their skoolie conversion for them. We're located in the Southern California area & would really appreciate any advice, personal experiences, pointers, etc.

We searched the forum but couldn't find a thread that matched what we're requesting.

We're mostly a DIY set on here.

The "contractors" are mostly opportunists.

there are people out there who build conversions for profit, a route to go may be using something like TAKL and doing your own conversion but hiring out tasks that you are unsure how to do.. ie electrical, welding.. etc..



make skoolie friends and you may be able to rally a group together to help you with a specific project on your bus.

Luke and Rachel (@midwestwanderers) own a shop in NC. They are amazing folks! You can see their shop at Skoolie.com

There is also a few others around Asheville and then there’s a big shop or two in Colorado including ‘Colorado Custom Coach Works’ who also rents DIY space as well as full custom build options.
