i am working on a remodel of the interior of my old bus .. i have looked at several slabs like what he used at my local sawmill .. have even thought about using something similar, except the rough overhang looks like it would hurt if stumbled against.

I'm thinking that too, but anything will smart, like heck if hit in the wrong way. The drawback I see is, that those edges find a way of gabbing onto everything.
THAT SAID..... there are some beautiful slabs for sale on East Texas C/L under Materials. I'd be surprised if they were also some in the Southeast area, too.
