No transition raise with fiberglass caps

Alright I know I'm posting a lot about roof raises but I can't seem to find a thread where someone has done a no transition raise on a bus that has fiberglass front and rear caps. Anyone have any input on where I should make my cuts? I was thinking through the fiberglass on the front right above the screws holding it in?? On the back I'm probably just going to cut mid way through the door so it won't be an issue.

Not much help.....

My first bus had fiberglass caps. We raised the roof 8". We purchased new caps made for raising the roof from R&M Fiberglass in Oregon. I tried to get a hold of them a couple of years ago for another project and couldn't find them. I suspect that they have gone out of business.

My bus is a commercial series instead of a school bus but its fiberglass cap looks similar to yours.

Unfortunately, my conversion probably wins the prize for "slowest-moving conversion that technically isn't abandoned." I did the 16" roof raise about 4 years ago, riveted on new sheet metal 2 years ago, and painted the sheet metal this summer. Been too busy to document that stunning amount of work on my build thread though..

The plan is that in the spring I'll get into fixing up my fiberglass cap. Last winter I used a snow bank to arrange a mock-up of how I hope it'll work out. You can see that there. Hopefully next spring I'll get around to actually attempting it.

Hmmmmm I'm thinking maybe I just cut through the fiberglass right below the lights and then attach the front skin to the fiberglass with bolts or screws + lots of adhesive???
