Hi all,
I have a shuttle bus, a 2005 e-450, diesel dually with a much needed handicap lift. The parking brake has apparently failed and locked. This brake assembly is no longer made. The life of course is connected to a safety interlock system. To operate the lift the parking brake has to be on, bus running.
This is my question: Is it possible to remove the entire parking brake assembly, and still be able to use the lift? Either simply by depressing the parking brake pedal, or by bypassing the interlock switch entirely?
The parking brake assembly is no longer made and we would have to buy either junkyard, rebuilt, or aftermarket. I need to move the bus 2 miles next Wednesday and need some direction. I can probably move it with the parking brake engaged, but I'd rather not if I can help it.
Any and all advice for this extreme newby welcome! Please and thank you!
