Original cost of an old bus

Just call GMAC insurance. No fuss, no muss. Simple, cheap liability only insurance.

hope this helps,
jim

I've been with GMAC for about 16 months now. I originally got it for my bus, as nobody else would touch it. My rate has dropped steadily in the time I've had it, and my car insurance climbed dramatically in the same time (horace mann insurance), so when it came time to renew the car the last time, I called GMAC. Same coverage for the car as I had with horace mann, plus the bus with liability only, and my rates are still less than what horace mann charged just for the car alone.

Every time I've called GMAC, I talked to a nice friendly and helpful person. I got call backs when promised. Every experience with them has been positive, and I'm glad I switched to them.

hope this helps,
Jim

Just as well you went with GMAC, as State Farm agent will tell you yes and write you a policy, then State Farm itself would drop you within a month... they DO NOT insure School Bus Conversions, they dropped me after only 2 weeks, even though my cars & home have been with them nearly 20 years... I wound up going with GMAC for the bus also...

i don't understand... GMAC just refused to cover my conversion something about them not being able to look it up or something and it's been declined. they had asked when i got a quote first about the total value and everything. i think the person on the phone just put in 100k.

I just went through this with my insurance co. The original sticker price for my Blue Bird All American 1983 was 26000.00 I was told that they need this so that they can have a base line for paying for original equipment part if you have an accident. the conversion is insured seperately under the same policy

Mine has been insured with State Farm for 8 years.

In Iowa they put the original list prices for all cars on the titles I don't know why but they have large books to look up the list prices of old cars and trucks.

I just drove mine down to farm bureau it was yellow and fully seated, I said "jay, I need insurance on this"
"Why in the hell did you buy that?"
"I am building a camper!"
"Cool, come on in ----- take some pictures of his bus for me"

Next thing you know I have insurance, liability only and one step up from min. Requirements cost $167 every 6 months

It could I guess, most people I have read having trouble, describe it as a bus and they want full coverage
Ins. Co. Auto thinks "hauling passengers" make sure they understand its going to be an rv

Good luck, agent makes a big difference
