OSHKOSH 22 passenger, 5.9 Cummings (opinions)

After getting some info about these buses, I'm gonna pass on it. Now I'm looking at a 1999 mini bird breadbox style with a 5.7 gas engine... Can't wait to find a good bus!

The right bus has a way of finding us. My GMC truck has that 5.7l V8 gas motor and i am very pleased with it. Can you share a picture of the breadbox bus you are considering?

If it wont let you upload i simply upload elsewhere and post the link to my pictures.

Good luck!

Very exciting indeed. As many here have discovered a full test drive is super wise, to give the motor and transmission time to get up to operating temperature and also to see if the bus will not only run and drive, but maintain top speed for ten miles without revealing a smoke trail, slipping transmission, or worse.

Most likely all those things will be fine, but better to discover before paying than after :)

Excited to hear more as it unfolds.

PS; if your screen name Petrified is refferring to fear of the unknown, we can all relate. In fact there seems to be a state of shock after buying a bus that can last for a few months. It did for me. However if your sn means organic material that is old enough to have all its matter filled in with minerals ie petrified wood, choral, etc. That's super cool too.

Good advice man!

Haha! My user name is referring to mineralized material mainly, but with an extra r to bring it into the context of life. I'm a bit of a rockhound.

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

A nice pice of black tourmaline, some celestite, rose quartz, fire aggate, jade, and some others oh a petrefried sharks tooth. Vibrates a warning to predators lol

Not the dump truck of course, can't fit that in a pocket...or can i? lol
This Sunday i finally got to test drive a international with a dt466 motor that i have been reading so much about, and wow what a motor indeed! The torque was superb. Lunged that heavy truck around like a ox. Really neat. The kid in me absolutely loves dump trucks, so i go test drive em when i find a seller who is very friendly and offers, and i plan to buy one someday when the time is right.

I finally heard back from the folks with the mini bird bus. He was on the road not able to get email Ect.. It is at a bus sales place that only sells new buses most of the time and occasionally takes a trade in from the local school, which is where this bus came from. I like it and am planning on going up there to test drive it on Monday!

P.s. Cool rocks man=). Really like the shark tooth
