Newbie here.... Been kicking the idea of a bus conversion around for a number of years. Then I stumbled upon this forum, which has been a huge help at answering a ton of questions. I have yet to purchase a bus, maybe this summer, a local school is suppose to be unloading several after the school year.

I never liked the fact that so many bus conversions look like a giant loaf of bread rolling down the highway. So I found a perfect pic on line to Photoshop, gave my son several ideas I had in mind and said to keep everything in earth tone colors. This is what he came up with to start off. I think it turned out pretty awesome and won't be to difficult to do.

What do y'all think?

I like it and was going to do something similar to ours using different shades or blue/greens like the smokey mnts we have

I say go for it

Playing around with Photoshop some more. Will probably do a dozen or so ideas before settling on one. What I usually do on a project like this is save the image I like as my wallpaper on the desk top so I'll look at it everyday. If I get tired of it in a week or so then I'm thankful I didn't paint the bus. LOL

Here's another one....

Top one is "wood-see" 2nd one is "desert-tee"

Two totally different perseived looks with simply color change, good job

I like the top one a lot.. Funny I had something similar in my head already for my project. Probably wont have so much contrast on mine, I'd like to use two similar green colors so you can hardly see the detail from a distance.

What are you people seeing? I see no photos or clickable links in any of the messages in this thread, and I hovered over all the text to see if one or two words might be an in-line link.

Confused . . . . . .

Redbear, you have to have a special decoder ring to see the pics. I got mine from Bansil for only 24.95 (plus shipping) and it was well worth it!

its paypal only...I am running a special now...type in code : windowlicking

or

you can pick up 4 cases of 2013 crackerjacks with sku oi812 and check prizes

ETA it just be your google based browser was hacked by china and you need to update it

Redbear... are you using a laptop or Iphone, etc. ?
I can't see the links myself from my Iphone, but have no problems with the laptop.

(Oh, how I long for XP again!)

redbear, im runnin linux and firefox, chrome and some pics are not showing up. some totally missing, others appear as a teeny little box that doesnt clicky.

I looked with Win-7 and firefox also with Linux mint and firefox. No problems.
I like the look. Wife and I have tossed ideas out too. Not sure what our final plan is. Ours is currently red and white but fading. We have too many windows to do something like you plan unless we use perforated mural vinyl for the windows like some big city buses use for marketing.

I was thinking about that stuff, and wanted to try a diy technique. You could get a mesh fabric of some sort (I'm thinking similar to the stuff you line kitchen drawers with) and use it as a stencil to spray plasti-dip. You could even keep with your overall design by taping off certain parts of it and spraying different colors. Would mimic the vinyl wrap and provide the same function, keep the design uninterrupted, and still allow light in and out of the window.

And if you dont like the result, it comes off with some elbow grease.

Wow. I really like that idea. Infact, I might try using it over black primed sides of the body so the whole bus has that effect! Now to run the idea by the boss (wife). I can picture it for sure.
