Is it necessary to use primer when doing the floors, or can I just paint right on it after I've treated the rust? Seen people do it both ways, but didn't really see any debate about it. I used Prep and Etch and on the rust and grabbed some rustoleum oil based high performance protective enamel

You can just use primer, no need for the paint.

maybe i just got it backwards then. oh well, i can just swap it out

any reccomendations on what to use to clean floor before primer? rags and mineral spirits? gonna hit it with compressed air and blow everything out the back and windows, then clean the floor tonight after work

I used both primer and paint, but I knew I wouldn't put putting anything on top of the floor for a while and the primer stays too sticky to be in there working.

I used Ace Hardware's rustoleum clone, oil based enamel primer.. Then Lowes had some white label no name brand grey oil based enamel paint for cheap so I rolled that down.

I cleaned my floor y scrubbing it with simple green, before my ospho. After that it just needed a good sweep.
