I'm using 1/8" grey Celtec board for all my interior paneling. I bond it onto 3/8" plywood for all the side walls under the windows, the interior divider walls will be 1/2" marine plywood with Celtec on both sides, and the overhead cabinets and their doors will be faced with Celtec on 1/4" marine plywood. It's an expanded-PVC dense closed-cell board, flexible, colored or white (no need to paint it), rot and mold resistant, wipe clean, and it never warps/cracks/splits/shrinks/swells/etc like wood. I'll use a similar more-flexible white PVC board against the ceiling with a thin layer of insulation behind it, then I can shine some LED rope lights up against the ceiling to get a difuse glare-free overall lighting. For the side walls' Celtec joints I found some connecting moldings at Home Despot that when painted the same grey as the Celtec blend in perfectly. Easy!

The shower's walls will be faced with FRP sheet smooth side out, bonded onto the same plywood as elsewhere, and the FRP will extend all the way down to the base of the shower pan (I'll have it made from stainless steel). And onto the FRP walls and shower pan floor I'll attach Armstrong self-adhesive vinyl floor tiles that look like marble/granite/onyx/slate or whatever faux-stone I like - it should look good and be much easier than faffing about with real tile.

Wow! Thanks for all the detail! I'm gonna need to look into that a bit more. I want to do a similar thing with the rope lights - great minds and all that. And I I like your idea with the shower pan. Tile is a terrible idea. I have been wondering if you could do a steel shower pan like that then fill it with an epoxy floor. Think that would hold up to a bus?
