Thank you for taking the time to look at my weekend project that I could never finish.
1999 Thomas MVP FE Titled as an RV $5000 obo
Engine: Diesel 5.9 Cummins 24V
Brakes: Air (has 4 tanks, front brake, rear brake, reserve, accessory)
Door: Air
Transmission Allison 3060 (configured for 5 speeds, has 6 speeds and you can have it unlocked at Allison authorized shop, it's a school bus thing limiting it to 5)
Differential: Dayna
Brief Summary:
Started this conversion 5 years ago but never finished it. Starts and Drives but has a small low pressure fuel leak on the return of the engine. I have the fitting that interfaces engine to fuel line but can't get to it myself. Yes there is rust, and everything was installed with overkill. Steel, glue, screws, welds, 3M Structural epoxy etc. There is still work but if you want a raised roof bus that is titled as an RV message me.
Windows
THREE - 60x29 windows (1 in bedroom, 2 in living area)
One - 24x29 window up front passenger side to aid in curb checks
Tires:
11R22.5 (hold air but should be replaced)
Glass: no cracks, chips were filled in windshield
Lights: replaced exterior lights, headlights, turn signals with DOT approved LED
Exterior:
-Roof raised 22" (roof is now 12' off ground)
--This was achieved by cutting at alternating heights the channel hat steel supports. The cut portions were joined with a channel hat that slipped over original AND square tubing on the inside portion. This was then welded.
-16 ga cold roll steel along sides
-steel frame around bathroom to support 70# solid core doors on a 1000# rated pulley system (they move with a finger)
-1x3 steel tube bolted through the channel hat/roof to support four standard 1x2 meter solar panels
Interior notes:
Transition between roof heights was made with welded braces, sheet metal cut and formed over top, welded, screwed, and covered in flexible automotive sealer.
there is an abundance of wiring for 120, 12, audio (6 speakers, 2 per zone)
Floor:
2x6 Treated with 3/4" TG plywood on top, construction glue and decking screws
thin laminate was started to be applied to the top (not recommended to install LVT directly on treated)
Between the 2x6's are 4 channels each with 120vac, 12vdc, fresh Water, Gray water
pex is in a loose S curve to allow expansion
5" of closed cell spray foam in floor
walls:
2" r10 pink closed cell foam and cans of spray foam used. During strips with 3ply wood laminate over strips to prevent thermal bridging.
Ceiling:
Leak free and insulated with 2" R10 and/or rockwool depending on location
thick canvas used on transition between original height and raised roof
Exhaust:
rerouted to passenger side before rear axle for noise/away from bedroom.
Vehicle is registered as an RV @ 35,000lbs with tabs good until 2024
Appliances:
-Atwood Air Command 13,500 BTU Non Ducted AC mounted to welded frame
-Cubic Mini Grizzly 18k btu wood stove installed with rock wool insulation and alumunium sheet for a fire break
-Composting Toilet vent with fan installed to roof, toilet hasn't been bolted to floor yet
-Sink and LPG stove are set into the stainless counter top but not bolted in
Furniture:
-Kitchen Cabinets are wood home grade cabinets from HomeDepot
-Counter Top is stainless that I had cut, formed, welded
Dinette with storage under, steel frame for seat belts below
--Seats lift up, sides lift up for extra seating/bigger bed base
Couch slides out for sleeping
the co-pilot chair electrical isn't working at this time, this is not bolted down yet. The base was welded in place and wood/foam around it.
misc:
100 Gallon fuel tank, fuel has been treated and refilled and engine fast idled to operating temp monthly then air system bled. Occasionally moving/cycling through the gears.
Uninstalled extras:
Two 100 gallon water tanks (one is long and flat, other is box like) The intent was flat fresh tank under bed in rear, gray tank under frame)
Nature's Head Composting toilet
Shower with seat kit NIB (will fit in bathroom)
Armoire (for bedroom)
TWO - new 6volt 455 AH Lead acid batteries charged but never installed
RV tankless LPG water heater
Dimensions (approximate) :
Exterior 40' long, 8' wide, 12' tall (13' with AC)
Interior Bedroom 12'x7', Bathroom 7'x7', Kitchen is 7' wide, couch is 7' wide
If you have questions or need pictures of something in detail AND are seriously interested let me know. The $5000 is based on chassis + extras that will aid in the completion. reasonable offers considered and if it takes some PV panels to sweeten the deal let me know.
