Hello everyone I cant seem to find a thread for my specific bus so I hope posting this question here is ok. I found this bus that I really want to buy it’s 4K for a 2009 Thomas frightliner sad-t-liner with a Mercedes engine, automatic transmission. It also says body Chevrolet. Until now I had not heard of them but I do love that it’s a pusher. Is it priced right? Is it a good engine?

The only perfect bus is one you haven't bought yet...
Someone else can comment on the german engine, as I recall they are fine.

They run well until they don't.
Then it gets expensive. Unless you can diagnose and fix said engine, without taking it to a shop.

$4k for it sounds like fair market value, unless it's rotted out from salt exposure?

Don't know how or why Chevrolet comes into play though???

If its not rusty sounds like a decent bus.

The Chevrolet body is probably a misprint or something. Never heard of GM chassis using MB engines, I've only ever seen Caterpillars and gas big-blocks in them once the 8.2 went out of production. Freightliner certainly used the MB engines though. Perhaps you can post a link to an ad or a pics of the bus in question and engine pics?

I was going to say... Freightliner would make a lot more sense, especially as how Freightliner is a division of Daimler (also the parent of Mercedes-Benz) since 1981.

I love my small Mercedes diesel (2006 E320 CDI - just before the DEF nonsense started), and I would sure love to have a Mercedes in a bus.. until it comes time for service. Mercedes is renowned for being very pricy for service, but then again, most big diesels are as well.

Heck, I'm still eyeing the Sprinter vans :)
