I looked around for any discussion on this, found nothing! For all the fearmongering you'd think there would be a few threads on this topic: 'Help-popped a spark plug in the desert!'
If the Ford V-10 is so prone to popping out sparkplugs has anyone simply put in the Cal Van replacements as part of the build, rather than taken the risk one will blow out on the road?
I'm not keen on doing ten of them, but would like feedback on whether that's worth considering.
I have a pickup, and when it happened on that, the quote was $750 for one, $1,500 for all eight (I think). Point being, once you're in there, it's not a big deal. I bought the Cal Van kit and did it myself. Scared to death, drilling out the head right in place. It came out just fine. Still....
