Prison Bus?

Has anyone here ever converted a prison bus. The guy we bought our short bus from was selling it because he bought and was converting a prison bus instead. He said it was a really good way to go because it already had the plumbing stuff done and had an on board bathroom already in place. Anyone ever done a conversion like that. Is that something that is worth looking at doing?

The windows are weird shaped and don't open. I saw one in a parking lot once.

Were you able to see the inside of it? Was the bathroom any good on it?

They're like Greyhound bathrooms, only with less privacy from the couple I've seen at auction. Stainless steel bowls in a corner. But on the plus side, those buses are usually very well maintained and are easy to "gut".

There's one on YT...the "bathroom" is a stainless steel thingy similar to a porta-can...some wire partitions...all depends on your level of creativity...saw one NW Bus Sales that a rear door with steps... I've ridden in a few in TX...so, yeah, I think a bus is a bus until it's a skoolie...if the price is right and the drivetrain has usable life then go for it...

The bathroom is unlikely to be something that you would want to keep.
