Hi Fellow Skooliers!
I'm trying to find out information in converting a school bus into a transport vehicle for dogs and cats. I run an animal rescue in NC with the hopes of transporting to other shelters or rescues along the I-95 corridor. Has any attempted this? I appreciate any advice or suggestions.

That was part of my plan when converting my bus. What a great idea.
I drove a converted RV that became an "adoption mobile" - but the bus is a lot better of an idea. My dog loved the bus.

I would think that you want to water tight the floor - so that it can be easily washed - then just add small walls - or crates - and a lot of fans.

Welcome !

It sounds like a noble cause. Converting a bus properly would be expensive, plywood dog cages don't last long.

From time to time, mobile veterinarian buses come-up for auction. They have all the stainless cages, exam tables, generator, levelers, washer/dryer, etc. Might be best bet.

id think you need a fully air-conditioned bus too.. not sure of others' experience but its been mine that pets can and do get car sick.. and that having cool air seems to keep that to a minimum..

at times i think thats why dogs like to put their head out the window...
