I currently have existing bay storage under the bus and thought about putting 20lb propane storage tanks in one of those bays. The only downside is venting the storage bay. Would it be better to have a separate cage built for propane with a metal mesh floor for venting? Ideas on how to attach the cage to frame i.e. all thread?

Make sure the storage bay is sealed and the vent is on the bottom. Propane is heavier than air. I made my own for a boat by fiberglassing the interior of a "box" and installing a vent in the bottom leading to a hose for overboard discharge of any leaking gas

On my last bus I created a vent by cutting two rows of 3" holes with a hole saw in the floor of the compartment and covered them with expanded steel mesh.

Sealed sides and top. Vented bottom.
