Just had my bus delivered to me yesterday morning and I'm so happy to have her finally sitting in my driveway!

She's 38' Thomas built with the Dt466e and Allison 2000 tranny

135,000 miles and 72,000 hours for $2,600. As far as I can tell I think I made a good purchase!

She runs great with no leaks or shakes, rust is minimal for New England and the owner kept the bus very well maintained. Can't wait to start stripping her down.

She did take out the radio though so now I'm in search of a wiring diagram for this model so I can put in a new one...need tunes to get extra motivated! If anyone has any input for the wiring it would be greatly appreciated

sometimes the bus manufacturer places a wiring diagram for the bus body on the inside of the electrical panel by the driver compartment... if the bus has outside access to the electrical panel the diagram may be there....

this would be the BODY diagrams.. the fuse box on the fron dash is for the CHASSIS...

It's great to see so much support on this forum. I'll try to get some pictures up as soon as I figure out how. Also, got the radio in, all the wires were color coded!

So today I decided to call the RMV for a laugh once I hear what they have to say about it (live in MA). I was curious to see if I could register the bus as is if I painted it, took the stop sign off, stripped the seats to get under 26k, and removed anything saying school bus. I was hoping to test drive it for a few hundred miles before I start the build so I can find the weak links. I still might know someone with a repair plate so I'll try that as a backup.

If anyone knows if it's possible to register it in an easier way Id appreciate your input.

Welcome! Looks like you're doing a great job. I have an 02 International and my miles are a little more than 9,000. I can't remember the exact figure. So I'm sure it's probably 7,200. I have the same rust issues in about the same areas. I live in NY. I have a friend who's going to repair mine if i don't go ahead and teach myself.
Good luck and I look forward to watching your progress :)

Oh duh... this was back in June!
