Pulled the trigger today!

With the wife's blessing, I texted the seller this morning and told him we had a deal. On Saturday I'll be taking a five hour bus ride to a town near him, and he'll be picking me up to go take possession of my new bus. Yay! Then I get to learn how to drive it on the way home (gulp).

• Cummins 24v 5.9L (with new injector pump and low lift pump pressure alarm)
• Allison 2000 with overdrive
• Good tires
• Air Ride rear suspension
• Full maintenance records
• Seller is a bus mechanic (and a nice guy)

I'm a little concerned. My plan is to turn it into a moving van with a tiny RV section at the back, and sell it when we get to where we're going. But I hear these things can be addictive...

yes!!!!! you have your own bus now!!!! move to your new place and keep your bus and drive it to go out to eat, and get groceries, and for coffee.. and on long road trips... like I do mine!!! keep it and have fun!

Wish I could: I know the apartment complexes usually give you one parking place, but prolly not a 36 foot long one!

Agreed - The idea of having to climb over your belongings to get to bed seems tedious.

Well, the thought was that the piano would be better treated by being in the center of the bus rather than at the far back. But I think I can probably put the bunks directly behind the driver. With the piano just behind the bunks it is still not flapping in the breeze, as it would be at the far back. Good suggestion - reckon that's the way I'll go.

I have NEVER had a week take so long! I shook hands (well, by text) on Tuesday. I pick up my bus on Saturday (tomorrow). It's only been three days but it feels like it's been a month!
