Question for a 1992 international school bus

Ohhh. So the bus must had the hood replaced back in its days

Very good possibility. Consider some bus yard had 50-100 (or more) buses in the fleet and one of 'em blows an engine. So it's parked out back for parts. Now another bus (the one you bought, possibly) gets involved in a minor fender-bender. Well, instead of a new hood and bumper (at several thousand dollars), they rob the ones off the blown engine one ...

It's a pretty common scenario that plays out in the big truck realm all the time ... and many IH parts interchange from the early 80's all the way to the late 90's or early 2000's.

That's what my school bus yard does. Old buses that broke down and couldn't keep it running or wouldn't run no more it's used as parts. And we had like five of them like that. They was used as parts

Mine is also an 8D. It just happens to be branded and labeled as a Duracell. Didn't come with the bunny.
The Bunny comes with the Eveready.
As far as Duracell...I won't buy any other battery for regular use so maybe your Duracell batteries are a good thing :D

I'm no expert. I do like the sound of Duracell though but there is most likely better batteries for our conversions...i don't know. Others can chime in now :D

It's just a label. The battery man told me who the maker actually was. Duracell is just a brand label used by the battery maker for a fee. Duracell does not make 8D batteries.

In this NW area, this battery would probably retail for $600 new. I'd be surprised if you ever found a Duracell in a commercial truck, but government contracts are another thing. You can bet I have a lock on my battery compartment.

Wow. Thanks for telling me

There's no magic in the Duracells. They're the batteries+ store brand. But they're nothing special. Can get the same batteries cheaper.
NO commercial guys are running Duracells.
Go to Rural King, save $50. G31's for $75 brand new by Exide.

what does the valve cover itself say on it and does it have computers located under the hood... the hoods get changed all the time.

on the right or left valve cover should be markings of what the engine is..

a true 92 was still all mechanical.
