Question to those with competed buses...

I'm curious if you've ever had a campground or other venue require some kind of proof or inspection of the various systems on board. I know with factory built RV's they are built to RVIA spec's and come with a RVIA "Seal" affixed to them.

I'm hoping to full time in mine, and maybe even set-up at a local mobile home park that allows RV's & MH's.... I was thinking that perhaps the city would require a habitility inspection, or as in the case of remodeled homes they require a certificate of occupancy...

Just curious....??

The most I've had is the campground owner came in with one of those little plugs that analyzes the wiring at an outlet. It just shows correct hot, neutral, and ground wiring. He said they do it on ALL rigs that come in. Interestingly enough, he said he's had to turn away far more stick n staples than skoolies for incorrect wiring.

That would've been interesting on mine...there are no 120V plugs inside.

mine will have plenty of them, but the one place I feel most confident in my abilities are the wiring, I've done a number of residential wiring jobs and had them all pass codes inspection....and I'm not an electritian but my father was and I worked for/with him for many years so I learned things well...

Still working on mine, but I have READ about camp sites inspecting the toilet in home-made
conversions. Residential toilets are a no-no. Must be RV toilet.

I've stuck to using bonafide RV parts & pieces in just about every aspect. The campground I'm in now will inspect the tanks...gotta have 2 waste tanks and they must have seperate dump valves and proper ventilation...

the campground I'm about to stay in told me that the only thing they look at is that everything on the outside, like access doors, has to be there...and no un-mounted propane tanks (they had pics of a couple of fires they have had the last few years)
