Re-wiring Flashing Lights?

@wuzzabus, If you still have your non-LED red and yellow lights, may I purchase them from you?

I'm trying to keep incandescent lighting and my tops were removed by Thomas. I'd like to re-add them as brake lights like you're doing but without LED's. Right click my name and send me a private message if you still have them and don't want them and are willing to sell.

Let there be lights PT. 2

Was working super early this morning. All I have to do is put in the NEW REVERSE LIGHTS!

verify your wiring and circuits are capable of handling the extra regular 1157 bulbs.. you absolutely dont want to use an incandescant school light on your brake light circuit.. school lights are actually similar to Headlights and not 1157s.. you will want to add 1157 fixtures.. but a pair of them will be around 4.5 amps added total to the circuit..

the OP here used LED's so he has no worries on amperage on the circuitry

Yeah, thanks, I'm well aware of LED's and limitations, and incandescent type of bulb.

LED's on average use about 1/8th of the electricity than older incandescents use. Varies a little but not by much. I plan to run a whole new circuit rail for those.

I got plans :)

It's my goal to never use LED's on this bus and keep that warm glow look. I want to hook up the Flashers again. (Not to use in a public setting), but also tie in a trigger so when the brake lights and turn signals are used they go off as well but on their own separate power rail separate from the brakes. So the lights I add will operate as both brake and flashers and switch between them with a rocker switch.

Front Uppers are IN!

Front Uppers are in..just have to wire them up...(COMING SOON). Next project.. replacement of the Clearance Lights. I have one in.. just to see what it looks like. I repainted the light covers black after I cleaned the rust off them. Oh and notice.. Front led headlight with built in turn signal under the light. I'll post a pic so y'all can see it.

Start by tracing the wiring back to the relay/fuse panel to identify and separate for removal and rewire.

the rears are easy to tap into the brake light wiring already back there to convert them over to that funtion.

Same with the flashers to turn signal conversion up front.

I just rewired my bus so I piece of advise is choose a signal line and work it first. I just started cutting multiple things at once and made my life much harder trying to blaze through it.

just remember like i mentioned above.. incandescant school warning lights are HEADLIGHT bulbs.. the brake light wiring / and or fuse very well may be damaged or fuse blow if trying to simply wire those upper bulbs in parallel.. even a couple more 1157 Bulbs can overload the circuit..

do your homework.. i think its a great idea to habe upper tails / turns / stop lamps but dont overload the bus circuits doing it.. this isnt an issue if converting some or all to LED..

Mine were already deleted, so yea, good catch. did not know that.

I've already done that Allison.. tracing the wires an all that jazz...it was actually very simple Just didn't have time to put the heat on them to light them up and put the switch on'em. TY for the advice.. I'd never turn down any of it ♥️ btw...I wasn't looking for no love..but I got whatchu was saying..just posting on my progress ♥️ on my buggy.

... Without WHEELS IT WOULDN'T ROLL...

I switched the front and rear student loading flashers to white lights as well. I use the rears frequently as super bright back-up lights: the fronts less so, but handy for seeing low tree branches.

Off Road Only

Rucker,
My front flood lights are only used off road. They are useful for helping me avoid low tree branches.
