Hey guys, looked for similar thread for this topic with no luck......

Maybe somebody here with more knowledge and experience can help me out. Problem is I was in the process of changing out rear shock absorbers and the nuts were rusted onto the bolts. I tried penetrating oil and heat. Top nut finally came loose but bottom bolt snapped clean off.

What now!!!! Holy crap!!!

Do I need to replace entire bottom bracket? Can it somehow be welded back? At a complete loss here....

By the way it's a 1996 TC2000 Bluebird 5.9

I will try and post picture of the problem area......

Thanks in advance for any advice on this crapstorm......

Thats a great upside down picture of a sheared off bolt. Does this breacket unbolt? That would be a good start. Is it a bolt through the bracket that could be machined out and replaced with another? Or, is it a blind stud that was press fit in? A picture of the damaged bracket would help also when emailing to bus salvage yards, looking for the part.

never seen one wit ha stud welded on... most often iots a bolt with a head o nthe other side of the bracket.. might be an access hole in the frame ? cant tell from the pic..

This took the wind out of my sail today......

Going to borrow an impact wrench tomorrow and (hopefully) pull off the shock.

I will try and post some better pics of the matter then.

This is all I can think about now.....was thinking maybe drilling through sheared bolt and maybe tapping in a smaller diameter bolt with a heavy duty washer....

I don't know.......will get more info up later

thanks guys!!

Man!!!!!!

Finally got one off. All it took was 3 days of PB blaster, a couple messed up knuckles, a sore lower back and some damaged ego. Other than that all went according to plan.
