:-( I made two informative posts and included links to help with my posts. Those post never showed up in the thread where I posted them, why? I don't feel compelled to share info and knowledge if my posts are going to be deleted or discraded. :surrender:

You can't put links in your first few posts.

It's a spam filter, not a judgment.

I've sent off a message to admin, but is there anywhere in the rules that say what post count you need to do anything? I couldn't find anything in the Community Rules.

Thanks. I didn't bother with it. I doubt the posts are recoverable.

Not that big a deal. Better than spam.

On some forums, I agree. With the way this one is set up to register, I think it should be allowed in certain areas. Maybe not in the for sale section.

Posts with links from folks with fewer than 10 posts get moderated. They are posted after someone checks out the links. It's a spam abatement scheme and not personal.

Just a bit taken aback after putting in the time to make the somewhat long posts and they have never shown up. This is the first forum I have seen use this technique to deter spam in years. I thought the days of restricting member's posts was over. :ermm:

I admin and mod several forums. We haven't used this technique since '08.

Before the forum changed hands, I had a lot of posts here under the same username. They're all gone and I was able to re-register with the same username and email that I used way back in late 2000. This is not the first forum I've had the same thing happen. I was a mod on one when it happened.

What was the old username? I can do some digging....

The old site and server had some ongoing issues with storage and hosting I think. After the site changed hands a few years ago we converted to an new platform and there are nightly backups of the site so that nothing will be lost.

I agree that moderating new posts is a pita - but only those with links are held and spam has been on the rise. Thanks for your patience.

Same username as I have now.
