Just completed my skoolie's first long-distance road trip as part of our move from Maryland to Alabama. A touch over 700 miles. The bus, a conversion in progress, acted as moving van for our last load of stuff. A logistics hassle caused it to remain in Maryland for the last 6 months, but I was finally able to get my ducks in a row and get back to it this past week. Drove the Quigley up and a friend helped (by driving the Quigley) us get the last bits back to Alabama.
After sitting 6 months, all the bus needed was 3 new batteries and we were good. A thorough pre-trip and we hit the road for a two-day road trip. The DT466E got a little hot climbing the mountain on I-64 out of Charlottesville but I backed off, hit the 4 ways and the light/buzzer went off. No other issues -- thanks to a thorough servicing and good pre-trip.
Man, this bus is fun to drive! Almost as fun as a 359 Pete with a 13-speed
Can't wait to get out on the road again!
