Hello Fellow Skoolies!
So I recently had an idea, in my 1998 International Shorty we have a front facing handicap door that is where the handicap lift use to be. Only thing is during driving it is very rattly and loud, and it doesn’t really open as optimally as I could. So I am thinking about removing it entirely and installing a Patio Door or Sliding door similar to some Campers.
I think this should be feasible for driving, the glass must be tempered and won’t break while driving and will also provide another entrance to the bus, how possible or feasible do you guys think this is? Obviously it would have to be custom made and fit but do you think it’s a good idea? Also it would probably be pretty small compared to most. Here is a picture of what I have vs what I’m planning to do,
Do you think just a regular RV door would be a better idea? Or maybe just really big custom boat windows instead?
