I am going to turn the other bus into a stage with about an 8-10' (maybe 12') fold out deck all the way around the bus, and full deck on the roof for the drummer/bass, speakers, recording, controls, storage for stage roof, ect. and the inside will be a tourbus for the stage crew (less than 15 ppl). I'll get some designs posted. I am going for a deadline of 6 mo. for our June show. We are already a nonprofit, but would the bus need to be registered as a commercial vehicle, would I need a CDL? Weight limits? Can I legally drive the bus with the fold out stage in the folded up position? Any comments and critisizm greatly appreciated.

would a vehicle owned and operated by a non-profit fit the definition of "a recreational vehicle for noncommercial purposes"??? I don't have the answer.

if it is considered a commercial vehicle, but has a gvw under 26001, and has air brakes do you need a special liscense?.....That's much too complicated for me. If it were me, i think i'd pay the $120 bucks to get the class B CDL and be done with it.
