Right forum for Box Truck Conversion?

When I joined this forum, I was dreaming about converting a skoolie into an RV. After learning more about the challenges tall (6'4") people face with school buses, I started leaning more toward converting a transit bus. At some point I may still go that route but for now I do not need that much space and do not want to pay the higher fuel bill and be restricted to mostly paved roads.

What I needed was something bigger than a van, taller than a skoolie, and lighter and more off-road capable than a low floor bus.

So I finally bought a Ford E350 Hi-Cube Van (small box truck) with a 7.3L Powerstroke. This is going to become my weekend stealth camper and -after an UJoint 4x4 conversion- my 'off the beaten path' vehicle for longer vacations.

What is the most appropriate venue for documenting the conversion of what is neither a skoolie nor a bus? This forum? Another website?

I can't speak for everyone else but I sure think that your box truck conversion project shares enough in common with our skoolies that it will fit right in here.

I was thinking box truck conversion before I decided on a bus. If you can get from the cab to the back box without exiting the vehicle, I'd say that's a wonderful choice. Too many times I had to deal with rain when camping in my pickup truck bed. Then again, I saw one yesterday, much taller than my bus. I am always hitting trees with my bus, and I was thinking then I'm glad I got the bus. Then there's the underpass that took my air-conditioning cover in Indianapolis last month. It didn't even occur to me to be wary until it was too late to stop...if I was driving a box truck then, I would not be now! But I'm 5'5.5"

I'd be interested in reading about it.

I'd say maybe the short bus conversion forum just based on size?
I'd think the layout and some of the constraints you might find fit in well with the short buses.

Box trucks, ambulances, heck- anything surplus!!!! I buy all kinds of stuff on the auction sites and post it on here.

I'm all for more unique build platforms on here.
I think most of us are here for the DIY aspect. Plus we end up with nice rigs for a fraction of what the factory junk goes for.
