Rightsizing?

Howdy,

My wife and I are tired of the rat race. We are going this weekend to look at our first bus. I currently work in a School Bus repair shop until our new home is completed. Then I plan to attempt retirement # 2 with 2 boys, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a cat rat. I can't wait to start interacting with this community.

what part of SC.
i just spent a week at grandfather mountain and was very impressed with the school buses they were using for shuttles to run up and down the mountain.
they were all from mecklenburg county NC. so they were spec'd. as mountain/interstate buses.

cant say i amm on the beach but close enough.
i work on all the bases around NC and just spent a week in Charleston.
my local school district sells there buses from the bus barn and they are built to be stop and go at 49mph and my first but is great for local camping but not a highway traveler.
i mentioned the mecklenburg county buses because owning 2 low land buses and seeing them perform in the mountains and 2 of them had my old 8.2 detroit and performed like it was nothing running up or going down.
my low land is specified and will only do 49 mph with an 8.2 na an at545 and a 6.50 rear.
it will do it all day long with no question asked.
my second bus is a chevy cutaway shortie with the 6.0 gas and it has no problem running the interstate. bringing it home from raleigh it ran 80 and had more in the pedal.
really depends on what you want sir.
at first i went with the low land bus because it was cheap and local. made a great local family camper but not quite our family roadtrip idea.
